Associate Professor of the Department of Language Training Valentyna Kochyna attended the International Online Webinar "How to Flip the Switch on Student Talking Time", organized by Linguist and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. 

The lecturer improved her knowledge of the application of the «rule 80/20» (Pareto principle) communicative approach – to identify the most important 20% (identification of important topics, focus on the purpose of messages), effective time management (concentrate maximum attention on them to achieve maximum efficiency with minimal time and resource costs).

The application of the 80/20 rule in communication provides an opportunity to minimize the lecturer's speaking time with the help of visual supports, to replace long instructions with intuitive tasks and paired work, which give students the opportunity to express themselves and not be afraid of mistakes. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/26408
