A five-day training "Psychological support (psychological rehabilitation) in extreme situations" has started at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. It is part of the joint project of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine "Improving the training capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on psychological support in extreme situations" and implementing the Action Plan for the Development Strategy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine until 2020.
The event was opened by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets. He noted: “It is necessary to keep up with the times, use modern technologies and new relevant knowledge to form a healthy society, effectively overcome the effects of stress and traumatic events. Concern for the health of the population is a state priority. For law enforcement agencies, the physical, mental and psychological health of employees above all. The effectiveness of our activities depends on this, so the relevance and importance of the training is difficult to overestimate. “
Nina Lyhun, Head of the Department of Psychological Support of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, presented the results of the CEB activities, focused on the positive achievements of providing psychological support to people who were in extreme situations.
The knowledge gained during the training will be useful in further activities and improve the professional level of each participant.
