A training for members of the mass media “Three aspects of journalists’ safety: digital, legal and private safety” in the context of cooperation with Kharkiv press club took place in Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs”. Representatives of broadcast and print media of Donetsk, Luhansk (territories under the control of Ukraine), Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv Regions.

The rector of the university Dmytro Shvets pays much attention to the media relations. Representatives of the university are frequent visitors of television broadcasts, members of the round tables, press conferences on topical issues of the modernity. The First Vice-Rector of the University Serhii Bortnyk and the Vice-rector Mykhailo talked with journalists. They told that during the training journalists obtained many interesting and useful information. During the training participants reconsidered their approaches to protection of their accounts from hacks, software viruses and spywares under the authority of the professor of the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity Vitalii Nosov, assisted by co-developers of a chat bot “StopNarkotyk” cadets of the Faculty No. 4 Vladyslav Laktionov, Denys Datsiuk and Vladyslav Plekhanov.
Journalists tried obstacle courses under the direction of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Tactical and Special Physical Training, master of sport of Ukraine in triathlon, head of the section of tactical and sport airsoft Oleksandr Sokolov, master of sport in climbing Andrii Kiaka, self-defense tactic instructors Mykhailo Kaliuzhnyi and Vladyslav Burkhailo.
The professor of the Department of Pedagogics and Psychology of the University, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Assistant Professor Svitlana Kharchenko and others recommended how to choose secure and advantageous positions during eye-witness reports and work with unfamiliar potentially harmful people.
Lecturer of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Assistant Professor Ella Vakulovych offered advices concerning actions in case of obstruction of journalistic activity.
Representatives of the mass-media tried defensive driving under the direction of specialists of the Department of Tactical and Special Physical Training Mykola Chmykh, Mykola Komziuk and Ruslan Kushnirenko.
Journalists were taught to correct and safety use of firearms by specialists from the Department of Firearms Training, such as Volodymyr Fedorov, Oleh Nazarenko, Ihor Lutsenko and Oleh Pabat.
After the end of the training the First Vice-Rector of the University Serhii Bortnyk awarded certificates to journalists.
