On the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Olympic lesson, the Sumy branch of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted the Spartakiad "Start of Hope" among the 1st year students, dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. The event was organized by Associate Professor of Humanities Department Tatiana Belous and the Student Parliament.
The sports festival was opened by the silver medalist of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, multiple winner of the World and European Championships, Honored Master of Sports in Biathlon, Honorary Citizen of Sumy, Head of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Sumy region Olena Petrova and European champion in Powerlifting, student of Sumy branch of KhNUIA Anna Rykun.
The Spartakiad is not only a test of students' sports training, but also a promotion of a healthy lifestyle and an example of useful and meaningful leisure for young people.
Competitions were held in various sports and, according to the results, the jury determined the winners. They are Artem Tarasenko, Anna Boboshko, Olga Novak, Valery Bozhko, Svitlana Gubska, Oleg Ostapchuk, Yulia Trygub, Maksym Chekh.
At the closing ceremony, the best athletes were awarded with diplomas and branded T-shirts from the Sumy regional branch of the NOC of Ukraine, and all the participants received souvenirs. In memory the students took pictures with honored guests.
