Maryna Petchenko, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Head of the Research Department of Kremenchug Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, completed an online scientific internship on "Academic Integrity" organized by the Polish-Ukrainian Foundation "Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation" on the base of Higher Theological Seminary (UKSW) in Warsaw, Poland.
The purpose of the international online research internship was to get acquainted with European approaches to scientific plagiarism and the promotion of academic integrity, as well as to improve the skills of educators and deepen cooperation in academic and scientific fields between Ukraine and Poland.
During the online research internship the following issues were raised: peculiarities of the higher education system in Poland; integration communication - building a networking; academic integrity regarding the concepts, principles and problems of implementation; activities of the International Center for Academic Integrity; European Network of Academic Integrity; Academic Integrity Promotion Project in Ukraine; violation of academic behavior and the concept of "plagiarism" in the legal documents of Ukraine and Poland; "Constitution for Science", a new law on higher education which is in force in Poland; exchange of experience in implementing approaches to the introduction of the principles of academic integrity in the educational and scientific environment; introduction of unified procedures for examination and evaluation of scientific and student papers based on the experience of European universities, etc.
Internship speakers: Oleksandr Dorensky, Expert of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education; Ali Takhmazov, Executive Director of Plagiat.pl; Yulia Glavcheva, Executive Secretary of the collection "Academic Integrity: Challenges of the Present"; Krzysztof Gutowski, copyright expert and publisher, Institute of Law of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Vitaly Arkhipov, regional manager of Turnitin; Ivan Gavrilyuk, Doctor of Science of University in Warsaw; Simon Linacre, Director of International Marketing and Development at Cabells.
The participant prepared and defended a scientific essay on the topic of the internship that is provided by the program, and received a certificate.
The international online internship will promote further scientific cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish colleagues. The experience gained will be used in the development of scientific seminars on academic integrity for participants in the educational process.
