Judge of Lozova City District Court in Kharkiv region, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Lecture of the National School of Judges of Ukraine Oleksii Popov met students-consultants of Law Clinic of the University.
He told the students about the structure of the judicial system of Ukraine, qualification requirements for judge, practical and psychological aspects of judicial activity, judge transfer to another court and the procedure of judge appointment.
The students asked many questions about activities of the court, peculiarities of court proceedings and judicial activity. Particular attention was paid to the judicial practice of compensation for non-pecuniary damage, the conclusion of amicable agreements, the settlement of disputes with the participation of the judge, the participation of jurors in criminal proceedings.
Oleksii Popov shared professional judge experience and his practices were of particular interest to young people who asked a lot of questions. The judge also drew the students' attention to the importance of acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills and getting acquainted with different types of legal professions while studying at the university.
The Head of Law Clinic, Associate Professor of Civil Law and Procedure of Faculty № 6 Ella Vakulovych and the Curator of Law Clinic, Associate Professor of Fundamental and Law Disciplines of Faculty № 6 Krystyna Kysylova invited Oleksii Popov to take part in training of court hearings conducted by the students.
