Holub Mykola, Assistant Professor of the Department of Law-Enforcement Activity and Policeistics of the Faculty No. 6, together with Maksym Petukhov and Yevhen Vedmederia,
Senior Inspectors on Special Assignments of the Public Relations Department of Kharkiv Regional Patrol Police Department, conducted a binary lesson for students of several study
groups on the topic “Law enforcement agencies. Patrol police as an integral part of the National Police of Ukraine, its tasks and functions”.
Maksym Petukhov spoke about the functioning of structural units of the patrol police in performing such tasks as ensuring public order on the streets and other public places during foot
and car patrols, using bicycle and cavalry patrols.
Yevhen Vedmederia paid attention to the tasks and functions of the patrol police, the requirements for a patrol police officer, the peculiarities of their training, the situations that arise
during patrolling the street. During the lesson, students were also provided with information about the functioning of the rapid response team of the patrol police “TOR”, whose task is to
quickly respond to violations of public order by groups, riots, law enforcement during mass events. The importance of the patrol police as an integral part of the National Police of Ukraine
and the main directions of its work were emphasized.
Patrol police officers spoke about the units that are part of the Patrol Police Department and their functions. These are the Department of Administrative Practice, the Department of Road
Accidents, the Department of Public Relations, the Department of Traffic Safety, the Department of Tactical and Rapid Response, the Legal Department, the Department of Telecommunications and others.
The main tasks of patrol police officers are a timely response to calls “102”, protection of public order and detection of crimes “of hot pursuit”.
Lessons with the involvement of practitioners motivate students to acquire new knowledge and stimulate their creative search.
