It was a wonderful day, full of fun, positive emotions and drive! With the assistance of the university trade union, an excursion trip of KhNUIA employees to Poltava region took place.
The excursion started from Reshetylivka town. This is a real source of Ukrainian folk art. The name Reshetylivka comes from the expression “sieve the fabric”, which means to connect two pieces of fabric with hemstitch. To mask the seams, the fabric was “sieved” (laced). According to this hypothesis, a continuation of the ancient hemstitch is modern white-on-white embroidery. Reshetyliv masters of weaving, carpet weaving and embroidery have been known throughout Ukraine since the end of the 19th century.
Poltava breathes a certain dimension and soulfulness. Here you want to walk.
Next to the monuments, to the classics there is a memorial sign to Poltava dumplings, in the spoon of which all tourists sit.
Round Square, Ivanova Mountain, Holy Cross Convent – all of them are incredibly impressive in their beauty.
And then the Museum of Beer & Moonshine in Abazivka opened its doors for us.
Vasyl Kozhan, the owner of this tourist place, enthusiastically told about the history of brewing and bootlegging, demonstrated a collection of mugs, bottles and treated with his delicious products.
Finally, there was a master class in making dumplings with meat, which we immediately tasted. Dumplings turned out extremely tasty!
Travel to Ukraine, you will be satisfied!
