Volodymyr Kroitor, the Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Proceedings of the Faculty No.6 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, and Roman Chumak, the postgraduate student of the University took part in the II Annual Conference of the Regional Justice Reform Councils.

The conference was opened by EU Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas. Mr. Maasikas delivered welcoming remarks and noted that the EU project “Pravo-Justice” has been helping to involve the legal community in the process of developing state policy in the field of justice for three years now. Such assistance is provided by supporting the activities of Regional Justice Reform Councils, which has been formed in Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa and Donbas regions.

Councils members took an active part in the drafting of a law on mediation, amendments to the Bankruptcy Procedure Code, proposals for improving the legislation on enforcement proceedings, the functioning of the e-court and discussing the concept of transitional justice.
