Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Dmytro Shvets received a letter of thanks from the head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in Kharkiv Region, Colonel of Police Valerii Bereza, in which he expressed gratitude to cadets of the Faculty No.4 (cyberpolice), cadets of the University: Vladyslav Loktionov, Denys Datsiuk, Vladyslav Plekhanov, Tetiana Frolova, Roman Orlov, Daria Hrytsaienko, Sviatoslav Voitenko and to the Dean of the Faculty No.4 Lieutenant Colonel of Police Viacheslav Markov.
The letter says: “The subdivision of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in Kharkiv Region of the Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine detained an organized group of three people who, from January 2019 to October 2020, hacked the personal accounts of Internet users, electronic payment services, social networks and other online services. Criminals, possessing specialized knowledge in the field of high information technologies, organized the process, aimed at obtaining personal logins and passwords of online services of citizens by using specialized hacker Malware for further use for personal gain, namely the theft of electronic payment funds.
The cadets of the Faculty No.4 (cyberpolice) of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs were directly involved in solving this crime.
