The Competition Commission of the "Legal Bulletin of Ukraine" summed up the results of the competition "The best legal publications of 2020" on the eve of the Lawyer's Day. The Organizing Committee of the competition included: Chairman O.V. Zaichuk, Deputy Chairman V.V. Kovalenko, members of the Organizing Committee - O.I. Klymenko, O.P. Orliuk, V.M. Yermolenko I.M. Sopilko L.A. Savchenko K.P. Koval. The competition committee selected 21 publications among the 148 legal publications that were identified as the best publications of 2020.
The selection criteria for the competition were the following:
- the relevance of the content, a real social request for the chosen topic of monographic/collective research. The relevance should have been based on the temporal, network, and territorial parameters of the research, its conduction by an authoritative author (a group of authors). The legal context of relevance emphasizes the importance, significance of legal events, regulatory material, topicality of the solution of raised problems;
- the logical correspondence of the tasks and conclusions, analyticity, originality, and critical informational richness of the work. The relevant legal information had to be supported by modern research methods, conclusions, research logic;
- the absence of a large legislative citation (for a significant increase in the volume of publication), limited compiler analysis (borrowing thoughts from other authors to the detriment of their own author's position);
- the literary standardization of the Ukrainian language of publication, editorial balance, clarity of the presentation of problems, events, stories, persons;
- the conformity of the work genre (scientific monograph, textbook, manual, scientific and practical publication, etc.) to the style of content presentation.
The publication "Judicial, Law Enforcement, Control and Supervisory, and Human Rights Bodies of Ukraine", authored by Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor Serhii Husarov, is recognized as one of the best legal publications of 2020.
