An online event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” took place at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The main speakers of the event were the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Khaidi Marharyta Vaskes Panes and Petro Babiak.

The presentation was also attended by the scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff of the university, cadets and students of the university, in particular Sumy branch and Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA.

Khaidi Marharyta Vaskes Panes, Observer and Gender Coordinator of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, spoke about the content of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, OSCE observation and research on the well-being and security of women in Ukraine, stressed the importance of women's role in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on domestic violence, and shared her own experiences and the experience of other community leaders and OSCE SMM observers gained during their work in conflict-affected areas.

The participants of the event actively participated in the discussion and asked questions, to which the speakers provided comprehensive answers.

The event was conducted in Ukrainian and English.
