The quality of educational programs is an important object of cooperation between an educational institution and stakeholders. The competitiveness of a higher education institution depends on the demand for educational programs among potential applicants, their high-quality filling with educational components and support within the educational process in order to train specialists in a particular specialty.

Olena Lukianykhina, Head of the Department of Social and Economic Sciences of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA, took part in the online seminar “Internal quality assurance of higher education: development of educational programs and their accreditation”, which was held on the online WebEx platform.

Organizers of the event were National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine (EU-funded project) in cooperation with Sumy State University with the participation of representatives of the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts of the EU Erasmus+ Programme and the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

Within the framework of the seminar, the following issues were discussed in detail:

  • new approaches to internal quality assurance of higher education in accordance with ESG and national legislation;
  • algorithm for the development, revision and improvement of educational programs based on the National Qualifications Framework, higher education standards and international standards
  • ensuring learning outcomes in educational programs;
  • principles of construction and development of syllabus;
  • preparation for accreditation of educational programs and the methodology for its implementation.

Based on the results of the seminar, Olena Lukianykhina shared her knowledge, in particular, concerning new approaches to the development of syllabus, with colleagues at the meeting of the Department of Social and Economic Sciences.

The head of the department also informed the audience about the received recommendations and explanations on the preparation of educational programs for accreditation and the actual methodology for its implementation.
