A two-day online training on the topic "Rights and Freedoms Protection of Vulnerable Groups of Population by the National Police of Ukraine" was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The training was conducted for the scientific, and scientific and pedagogical staff of KhNUIA, as well as representatives of Kremenchuk Flight College and Sumy Branch of KhNUIA.
Zemfira Kondur, Head of the Council of Europe Project "Protection of National Minorities, including Roma and Minority Languages in Ukraine" started off the event.
The trainers were the developers of the program, namely: Liliia Matvieieva, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and Philosophy of Law at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs and Volodymyr Kondur, Lawyer, Trainer for Developing Skills in Working with Vulnerable Groups of Clients of the FLA System, Graduate of the Lawyer of the Future Program, President of NGO "Human Rights Roma Center".
Olena Ustymenko, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of KhNUIA, moderated the event.
The presentation of the program, which was developed by representatives of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Council of Europe project "Protection of National Minorities, including Roma and Minority Languages in Ukraine" in 2020, took place during the training.
The authors of the course told about the goals and objectives of this academic discipline and the target audience for the course during the training. They also acquainted participants with the structure and some modules of the course, etc.
Moreover, the speakers paid considerable attention to the issues of the rights, freedoms and duties of representatives of the most vulnerable groups of the population (in particular, the Roma), the observance of the rights and freedoms of the Roma national minority in Ukraine, the issues of combating discrimination. They also presented tools for resolving conflicts and considered the issues of mediation in the activities of a lawyer, etc.
The participants actively commented and asked questions. The trainers gave comprehensive answers to questions.
All participants received certificates from the Council of Europe on the training completion.
