On the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Department of Firearms Training transferred more than 70 items of museum significance to the funds of the Museum of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Most of them are “World War II metal”: numerous samples of small arms fragments (for example, PPSh-41 and SVT-40), aircraft machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, artillery shells and mines, anti-tank mines, grenades, ammunition boxes, etc. Items included those that were used on the territory of the ATO-JFO (Joint Forces Operation) and this only emphasizes the symbolism of the struggle of many generations of Ukrainians for the independence of our country in the armed forces.
According to the Head of Firearms Training Department of the Faculty No. 3, police colonel Vitalii Fedorov, this collection of rarities has been collected for many years. In particular, Kharkiv Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Explosives Service helped to collect rare artifacts. There, dangerous objects were prepared for a peaceful “museum life”.
Since the beginning of the year, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism, the exposition of the University Museum has been supplemented with many rare monuments with the help of Kharkiv public research and historical organization “Memorials. East”. Also, a rare box for howitzer shells was handed over personally by Oleksii Shumilo, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Support of Economic Activity of the Faculty No. 6.
The Department of Social and Humanitarian work dedicated an exhibition of new arrivals – “Symbols of Invincibility and Victory” to the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, we can be sure that many interesting museum events will be held for military-patriotic education of cadets, listeners and students, which is traditionally given a lot of attention in KhNUIA in the future.
