On December 14, Ukraine celebrates the Day of honoring the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. On this day, we bow to the courage and dedication of the liquidators. They gave their health and life for the lives of millions of other people.

We remember those who consciously and silently sacrificed their lives for us in a nuclear boiler.

Thousands of our compatriots of various professions and social statuses, such as militaries, doctors, scientists, miners and others, were involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl Station, which occurred 34 years ago. However, the first to take the blow were representatives of Internal Affairs Bodies - police officers and firefighters. More than five hundred law enforcement officers of Sumy Region went to Chornobyl to stop the disaster.

An hour of remembrance "The Chornobyl disaster has not been forgotten" was held with cadets of Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs for the purpose of national and patriotic education.

Second-year cadets together with Serhii Paniotov, Inspector of Sumy branch of KhNUIA, Senior Police Lieutenant, took part in the city events in memory of the victims of the liquidation of the accident near the memorial sign "Victims of Chornobyl".
