The Academic Council of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs considered the issue of nominating candidates for placing photos on the stand “Well-known Scholars of the University”. Head of the Academic Council, Rector Valerii Sokurenko emphasized that a good tradition had been established a few years ago - to place photos of prominent scientists on a special stand to highlight their contribution to the development of science. There are well-known scholars of the University on the photos, such as Oleksandr Bandurka, Yurii Baulin, Svitlana Bocharova, Nataliia Hutorova, Oleksii Pohribnyi, Oleksandr Pushkin, Mykhailo Saltevskyi, Anatolii Komziuk, Vasyl Soboliev.

The day before, the administration invited the faculties to submit the candidacies of scientists for consideration by the Academic Council. Requirements for candidates were as follows: the
honorary title of “Honored” (lawyer science and technology figure or education worker of Ukraine), significant services to domestic science and the university, considerable number of publications, a long stay in the status of doctor of sciences, a significant contribution to science at the university. The faculties submitted nominations for consideration, and finally the administration decided that three of them met these criteria. These candidacies were submitted to the Academic Council of the University, which unanimously supported them. Thus, the Academic Council decided to place the photos on the stand “Well-known Scientists of the University” of scholars:
* Serhii Husarov, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine;
* Oleksii Lytvynov, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Education Worker of Ukraine;
* Volodymyr Hrechenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honored Education Worker of Ukraine.
