Professors of the Department of Legal Support of Economic Activity of the Faculty No.6 Olha Hetmanets and Yuliia Kyrychenko took part in the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems of Ensuring Human Rights and Freedoms”, which took place at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Topical issues of ensuring human rights and freedoms in Ukraine, as well as issues of organizing a modern system for protecting human rights and freedoms both in Ukraine and in the world, were discussed at the conference.

Olha Hetmanets’ report was devoted to the problems of protecting the rights of territorial communities, the observance of which depends on the financial basis of their activities and is connected with the dissemination of the rights of local authorities concerning the formation of financial resources and their rational use.

In the report, Yuliia Kyrychenko identified the main areas of local self-government bodies’ activity in the field of ensuring the rule of law, law and order, protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, administrative procedures through the implementation of which powers in this area are realized. She also outlined the features of the provision of administrative services by local self-government bodies in the specified area.

Following the results of the conference, its participants adopted proposals for improving the current legislation of Ukraine and the practice of its application on the issues of ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms.
