Interior Minister Arsen Avakov presented a book about the events in Kharkiv in 2014 at the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
The presentation of the book was attended by its co-authors - participants in the events of 2014, including public activists, journalists, law enforcement officers.
"I tell my story as I saw and experienced it as a Kharkiv resident and as an interior minister. My co-authors tell their stories together with me, that is Kharkiv residents who took part in those events, experienced them as the history of their city and their personal destiny", said Arsen Avakov.
The event was also attended by Colonel-General of Police Serhii Husarov, who headed the university at that time and was a direct participant and witness to those events. Under his leadership, scientists, teachers, course officers, and other university staff, along with Kharkiv residents, defended Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, showing patriotism, courage, and loyalty to the Oath. The presentation of the book was also attended by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Iryna Yefremova, Vice-Rector Serhii Bortnyk, Director of the Ukrainian-Polish Center of KhNUIA Mykola Pakhnin.
The book contains many documents from media publications to unique intelligence materials and audio recordings of separatist talks, obtained as part of operational activities (there was a special permission of the investigation for their publication).
Arsen Avakov stressed that the book publishes the "Plan for Kharkiv and the region" - an electronic correspondence of the "Russian Spring" curators, in which a detailed plan for the occupation of Slobozhanshchyna was developed.
The authors of the book also noted that the documentary filmmakers have already expressed a desire to make a documentary about the events of 2014 in Kharkiv.
