On January 29, 2021, Ukraine commemorated the 103rd anniversary of the Kruty Battle, which has become a symbol of the heroism and sacrifice of the young generation in the struggle for independence, for our people.

On the occasion of honoring the memory of the Heroes of Kruty, Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a thematic event "Remember about Kruty" for cadets at the Sumy Regional Museum of Local Lore.

During the event, the cadets had the opportunity to listen to a story about a heroic and, at the same time, a tragic event that marked the beginning of a new era of Ukrainian national awakening. The scientific staff of the museum familiarized the cadets with photo-documentary evidence of the heroic deeds of students and gymnasium pupils, who died in a heavy battle with the Bolshevik detachments near the Kruty railway station in January 1918. An hour of remembrance "Kruty forever in my heart" was held and photos of the participants of the memorable battle, documents commemorating the victims, and other thematic materials were presented.

The purpose of the event, organized by leading specialists Hanna Mititiel and Serhii Tovstukha, is the promotion of awareness among modern youth regarding the history of their people, their heroes, to be inspired by their actions and follow their example.
