In 2021 the Ministry of Internal Affairs strengthens large-scale security projects, - Arsen Avakov

Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that in 2021 the Ministry will continue to implement previously launched projects. The Minister stated about it during the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively cooperating with the French Republic to strengthen maritime security and protect Ukraine’s border. Thanks to this project, our country will get modern boats and technologies for their further production. The French partners are already building two boats for border guards, delivery of them is expected this year. Ukrainian shipbuilders will gain experience in international cooperation and access to modern world technologies for the production of high-speed vessels. By the way, localization of 25 percent of production will be carried out at Nibulon shipyard in Mykolaiv,” Arsen Avakov emphasized.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the development of the Unified System of Aviation Security and Civil Protection continues:

"The National Police got the first 2 modern H-145 helicopters, 2 H-125 helicopters got the State Border Guard Service, 10 - SES and NGU. Training of pilots and technicians is underway. The plans for this year are to receive another 28 helicopters for the needs of all services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Arsen Avakov said.

The Minister also reminded that in 2020 the system of photo and video recording of traffic violations was launched:

"We have carried out a strong preliminary work both in the legislative field and in the technical field, and have already introduced it in Kyiv and Kyiv region. The main goal is not the number of fines issued, but to save lives and health. It is also important to instill self-discipline in drivers. After all, according to statistics, 40 percent of accidents occur due to speeding. The effect of the system is obvious. During the six months of its work on 48 sections of highways in Kyiv, Kyiv and Lviv regions, where cameras have been installed, the number of road accidents with injured people decreased threefold,” Arsen Avakov stressed.

The Minister stressed that in 2021 about 220 more cameras will appear on the state highways.
