Senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages of Faculty №1 Larysa Sazanova took part in a series of online trainings and webinars on preparing applicants to take the Common Entrance Examination from the International Educational and Methodological Center Dinternal Education.
Certification training of English language teachers was conducted by experienced trainers/methodologists of the center. Speaker of the training Sam McKean (United Kingdom) spoke about the structure of the Common Entrance Examination in English for applicants to a Master's degree – types of tasks and strategies for preparing students for the exam, what skills and abilities are tested in "Reading" and "Use of Language", he also paid attention to the peculiarities of the use of integrated and intensive approaches in the process of preparation for the exam.
The training "Common Entrance Examination part "Reading" algorithm for work with multiple choice tasks” was devoted to the peculiarities of using the context to promote better understanding of students' tasks, applying different reading skills to perform multiple choice tasks successfully and work with distractors, paraphrases and keywords in preparation for the exam.
The training "Integration of elements of examination preparation for ZNO in English into the curriculum in advance" was about when it is best to start preparing for ZNO, how to establish a balance between the development of speech competence and testing readiness for the exam.
The issue of the influence of anxiety and stress before the exams on their results was considered at the webinar "Foster your students’ confidence for a successful pass of ZNO in English."
Use of a personalized learning environment for students’ maximum support in the learning process, the implementation of an individual approach to adult learning and the use of modern information and communication technologies to foster confidence in students were spoken about during the training "Development of confidence in teaching English for adult students using MyEnglishLab."
Larysa Sazanova received certificates of participation in trainings and webinars with confirmation of advanced training (12 academic hours - 0.42 ECTS credits).
The acquired experience can be used at practical classes of foreign language for professional purposes.
