Participants of the School of Scientific Leadership of the Faculty № 1 took part in the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani online conference on "Khojaly tragedy - a tragedy for all mankind", organized by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center. The conference was opened by the director of the International Multiculturalism Center Revan Hasanov. In his speech, he noted that the Khojaly tragedy is one of the most horrific crimes of the late twentieth century. The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Samir Allakhverdiiev assessed the crime from the point of view of international law, and also spoke about the work done by Azerbaijani diplomats to inform the international community about the crime.

Oleh Kupchyk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Foreign Countries of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Oleksandr Dudnyk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelchuk, Candidate of Historical Sciences also spoke at the event. In their speeches, they stressed that Ukraine has always officially supported Azerbaijan and condemned crimes against the Azerbaijani people.

The conference was moderated by Maryna Honcharuk, BIMC Representative in Ukraine.

The conference was attended by historians, teachers, and students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University, Kyiv University of Culture, Western Ukrainian National University, Poltava University of Economics and Trade.
