An associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Faculty No. 3 Victoriia Dotsenko conducted the first of three planned training seminars “Academic Integrity of Applicants” for applicants for higher education who are graduating from the University in 2021 on the educational and professional program "Psychology" (juvenile prevention psychologist).

The purpose of the event is to create motivation for strict observance of virtue in order to ensure the effectiveness of educational and research activities of applicants for higher education, to develop skills of high-quality academic writing.

During the seminar-training, the following issues were considered by the participants: academic integrity as a factor of quality of education; principles of academic integrity; the essence of basic types of violations of academic integrity; rules of citation and references to the source of information.

The seminar-training consisted of two parts - theoretical and practical. While studying the theory, the participants learned about the development of academic integrity at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, in particular, became acquainted with the Regulations on Academic Integrity at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, which is available in the public domain on the main website of the university http://univd.edu.ua/files/generaldocs/ academic_integrity_provisions.pdf. During the practice sessions, future psychologists worked in small groups, made presentations, discussed, etc.

Now the fourth-year students are writing bachelor’s papers and the approach to forming their own scientific achievements on the principles of academic integrity will be the key to their quality education.
