Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted celebrations on the occasion of taking the Oath of a police officer by first-year cadets. 100 future specialists of the preventive units of the National Police of Ukraine swore to serve the Ukrainian people faithfully and received police badges. To become cadets, young men and women put a lot of effort - persistently studied specialized subjects, trained, because a police officer must not only have quality knowledge but also be physically resilient, be able to repel the criminal and protect citizens.
The event was attended by the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, General of Police of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko, Head of Sumy Regional State Administration Vasyl Khoma, Head of the Human Resources Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Region, Police Colonel Ihor Poladych, Director of Sumy Branch Serhii Lukash, branch staff.
At the beginning of the event, all those present observed a moment of silence for the patriotism, courage, loyalty and heroism of those who laid down their lives for the freedom, unity and independence of Ukraine. First-year police officers were sworn in.
Addressing the boys and girls, the head of Sumy Regional State Administration Vasyl Khoma stressed: “Today the solemn commitment to loyalty to the Ukrainian people has joined you to a large family of police officers and united you with all generations of defenders of Ukraine. This is a high level of trust and great responsibility! Justify it!”
Head of the Human Resources Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Region, Police Colonel Ihor Poladych, wished the young, confident cadets “all the best: to live up to their parents' dreams, the hopes of Ukrainian citizens and the state's hope for young, patriotic and courageous police officers. Hold high the rank of a police officer, be worthy of your professional and life choice! ”
The rector of the university Valerii Sokurenko noted: “The oath is not just words. For everyone who wears shoulder straps, it is an order to protect the Ukrainian people, their rights and freedoms. Dear freshmen, keep the good name of the cadet, increase the fame of our veterans, meet the expectations of teachers and commanders, all who will contribute to your professional development. Always be inquisitive and persistent in achieving your goals, especially in the field of police education. Meet the new demands and challenges of the time! Serve so that people will respect you and the Lord God will protect you! Glory to Ukraine!".
Employees of Sumy branch were awarded. The order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine thanked the head of the Department of Legal Disciplines, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Oksana Panasiuk for conscientious attitude to the performance of official duties, initiative and persistence. The gratitude of the Academic Council of KhNUIA was awarded to the senior inspector of the department of educational and methodical work of Sumy center of primary professional training "Police Academy" Daria Kulishenko, doctor-therapist of the medical center Nataliia Tereshchuk, head of the canteen Nina Tokarieva.
Leading specialist Tsvitana Baranova, associate professor of the Department of Humanities, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Tetiana Bilous, psychologist of the Human Resources Department Nataliia Danylchenko were awarded diplomas for significant achievements, high professionalism, long-term fruitful work, a conscientious attitude to performance of official duties by the head of Sumy Regional State Administration. The awards were presented by the rector of the university Valerii Sokurenko and the head of Sumy Regional State Administration Vasyl Khoma.
The festivities ended with a performance by the vocal ensemble "Cadets" with a musical composition "We have something to defend!".
