The great poet lives in his works. His image, thoughts and feelings, aspirations and ideals appear before us first of all from what he wrote, what he did for his people. Taras Shevchenko, our Great Kobzar, belongs to such luminous poets.

He was born on Ukrainian soil, under the Ukrainian sky, but became a poet of the whole planet. Shevchenko's word has no boundaries. It flies where people seek freedom, happiness and freedom.

We know a lot about the poet, but not all. It is impossible to know him as a person, as an artist, as a poet in a short time. Shevchenko must be studied all the life. It was under this leitmotif of the student round table “Unknown and Famous Taras Shevchenko” which took place within the framework of Shevchenko Week, organized and conducted by Mykhailo Ovchinnikov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Faculty № 6.

The following issues were considered during the round table:

- Genealogical tree of the Shevchenko`s family (student Mykola Pavlov);

 - The world of Taras Shevchenko's childhood (student Victoria Karakutsya);

 - Shevchenko in a song, and a song for Shevchenko (student Elizabeth Dolzhenko);

- Taras Shevchenko - artist of the word and brush (student Inna Kitaygorodskaya);

 - Years of the exile of Taras Shevchenko (students Yulia Kalchenko and Anastasia Lebedeva);

 - Taras Shevchenko's style of clothing as a kind of the story of his life (student Nikita Hodeev);

 - Woman in the life and work of Taras Shevchenko (student Natalia Izhachenko);

 - Political and legal views of Taras Shevchenko (student Maryna Stukalova);

- Honoring the memory of Taras Shevchenko in Ukraine and the world (student Valentina Uvarenko).

The lyrical mood of the scientific event was added by the students Maryna Zhovtonozhko and Olena Chuyeva, who read the poetry by Taras Shevchenko.
