Cadets of faculties №№ 1-4 took part in the Forum of women's leadership "Be a woman. Be a leader. Be yourself". The event was organized by Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, with the support of the UN Program on reconstruction and peacebuilding UNPD in Ukraine and UNOPS Project “Law – Police”.
The aim of the project is to break gender stereotypes in the law enforcement system and society in general; development of women's leadership and motivation of students to personal and professional development; formation of a community of women's leadership and development of mentoring; development of student activism against gender discrimination and gender-based violence.
Opening the event, Kateryna Pavlichenko noted: “The topic of women's leadership is becoming increasingly important both at the international and national levels. We used to talk about leadership in general, but not so long ago we started talking about women's leadership. After all, being a woman, a leader and remaining yourself is sometimes too difficult. The point is not what role you choose for yourself, but that society is still not ready for this perception."
The event was coordinated by Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs: Adviser to the Rector on Gender Issues Oksana Tsukan, Associate Professors Nataliia Bobro and Mariana Kachynska.
A special prize for an interesting question, which provoked a lively discussion, was awarded to police officer Daria Sulima, a cadet of the Faculty №1. Each faculty received incentive prizes.
