Chornobyl for Ukraine became a severe and exhausting test that left a deep mark not only in the memory but also in the fate of people. The tragedy affected everyone. There was an accident of impressive scale: a huge release of radiation, more than three million injured, hundreds of thousands of people left their homes.

The liquidators, brave and courageous people, in the forefront of which were law enforcement officers, stood up in defense. Sacrificing their own lives and health, they stopped the disaster, did not allow it to become even larger. The price of the fight against invisible disaster was very high. We, Ukrainians, remember and will always remember these non-healing wounds, which for many years remind us about themselves with terrible diagnoses, certificates of disability, and even death.

The public organization "Ukrainian Association "Chornobyl" of Bodies and Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" is holding action of nationwide honoring of Chornobyl liquidators. Everyone who wishes to join this action is proposed to transfer a voluntary contribution in the amount of one day's wages to provide charitable social assistance to Chornobyl victims and family members of the deceased.
