Students-consultants of the legal clinic "Legal Aid" of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs together with the head of the legal clinic Maryna Vasylenko visited the Regional Center for Free Secondary Legal Aid in Sumy region.

Director of the Regional Center Olena Demchenko noted that it is important for students majoring in law to be familiar with the activities of legal aid centers and offices, to know what services and projects contribute to improving legal education of the population and early access to justice.

Clinicians visited the contact center, where they learned about the peculiarities of providing legal advice by phone at the universal number of FLA system 0800 213 103. They got information about the peculiarities of legal aid centers and offices work in the Department of Communications and Legal Education. The project “FLA Volunteer”, which started all over Ukraine was also presented to the students, and they were invited to join its implementation in Sumy Region. The future lawyers were also acquainted with the work of the duty unit, explaining which calls are coming to the duty officer, how instructions are given to lawyers to protect the rights of citizens.

Such meetings are extremely useful for law students, thanks to which they better understand the specifics of the work of centers and offices, as well as consider them as a possible place for future work or practice.
