Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in an open online lecture on the topic "Empathy in Migration: Socio-Economic Rights, Duties, and Relations on the EU Periphery" organized by representatives of the Faculty of Law of the International University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The event was held in English.

The main speaker of the event was Magdalena Smieszek – Doctor of Legal Sciences, Human Rights Advocate. She informed about the European standards of economic and social human rights, the problems of social protection of migrants in different countries, considered the existing European legal framework on migration, gave examples of human rights violations, acquainted participants with the categories of factors influencing the increase in the number of migrants.

The speaker paid special attention to the theory of social psychology and highlighted the connection between social psychology and international law.

At the end of the event, Magdalena Smieszek gave comprehensive answers to participants' questions.
