Senior Lecturer of Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of Faculty № 6 Candidate of Philological Sciences Nataliia Kobylko took part in the event "Vasyl Stefanyk: an art project to the 150th anniversary", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education. The celebrations lasted three days and were full of events: "Let's talk about Stefanyk" (discussions about the life, work and problematics of the author's short stories); viewing of Leonid Osyka's film "Fireplace Cross" with further discussion with film experts; theatrical performance "The best of my heart" based on short stories and letters of the writer with the participation of Oksana Zabuzhko, Irma Vitovska, Roman Yasinovskyi, and Yurii Diak; open-air exhibition "StefanikOnline".
The participants of the third literary discussion on the topic "The problem of population migration as a key theme in the works of Stefanyk and the reality with which Ukraine still lives" were: Mykola Huivaniuk - Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of Department of History of Ukraine (Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University), Nataliia Kobylko - Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer of Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Faculty № 6 (Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs), Nataliia Bezborodova, Ph.D. in Anthropology (University of Alberta, Canada) and Pavlo Kravchuk, Migration Processes Researcher (analytical center “Europe without Barriers”). The discussion was moderated by Olha Poliukhovych, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Lecturer at Department of Literature (National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy). The discussion was lively, interdisciplinary, which made it possible to reveal the issue of migration in various aspects. Nataliia Kobylko analyzed Vasyl Stefanyk's short stories, in which the author described the painful break between the peasantry and their native land, pointed out the reasons for mass migration, and presented Stefanyk's portrait of an emigrant. The event took place live, the recording was posted on the Youtube channel and on the page of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education on Facebook.
