The Head of the Department is Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Kholod Yurii Anatoliiovych
In 2019, the Department of General Law Disciplines was reorganized into the Department of Fundamental and Legal Disciplines.
The Department of General Law Disciplines was founded in 2013 on the basis of the Department of Fundamental Legal Disciplines (Head – Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Y.A. Kholod) and the Department of Administrative, Financial and Information Law (Head – Candidate of Law, Associate Professor V.I. Knysh). Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Yurii Anatoliiovych Kholod was appointed the Head of the Department.
The following educational subjects are taught at the Department: “Deontological Fundamentals of Law Enforcement Activity”, “Doctrines of Constitutional Law: History and Modernity”, “Doctrines of Municipal Law: History and Modernity”, “Doctrines of Constitutional and Social State: History and Modernity”, “Historical and Legal Doctrines (Concepts) of State and Law”, “History of State and Law”, “History of State and Law of Foreign Countries”, “History of State and Law of Ukraine”, “History of Law Enforcement Agencies”, “Constitutional Law”, “Methodology of Law”, “International Law”, «International Legal Standards of Law Enforcement”, “Municipal Law”, Directions for the Development of Science “History of the State and Law”, Directions for the Development of Science “Constitutional Law”, Directions for the Development of Science “Municipal Law”, Directions for the Development of Science “Theory of the State and Law”, Directions for the Development of the Legal Doctrine of Ukraine “Fundamentals of Jurisprudence”, “Political and Legal Teachings of Ukraine and the World: History and Modernity”, “Comparative Law”, “Law of the European Union”, “Jurisprudence”, “Legal activity of subjects of public administration”, «Modern theories (doctrines ) of law”, “Theory of State and Law”, “Philosophy of Law”, “Legal Documentation”.
The Department provides training of scientific and pedagogical staff and scientific and expert activities in the specialties 12.00.01 – "Theory and History of State and Law; History of Political and Legal Doctrines", 12.00.02 – "Constitutional Law; Municipal Law".
The main areas of scientific and research activities of the Department are current issues of theory and history of state and law, constitutional law, in particular the formation and development of law enforcement function of the state.
Lecturers of the Department constantly participate in various scientific forums, in particular in the activities of the International Association of Legal Historians (its secretary is Professor of the Department V.E. Kyrychenko).
