Olha Bakaieva, a lecturer at the Department of Legal Disciplines of Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs organized a visit for third-year students to Zarichnyi District Court of Sumy City.

The students were present at the preparatory hearing on the criminal proceedings on the accusation of a person who had committed a criminal offense. A conciliation agreement was achieved in the proceedings, and the court approved a guilty verdict based on the results of the review and investigation. The person was sentenced to a fine with the agreement of the parties of the criminal proceedings.

At hearings, the students listened to the explanations of the parties to the criminal proceedings, arguments in support of the legal position, compared the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and the implementation of its rules in practice.

The students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of practical use of substantive and Procedure Law of Ukraine and to be convinced of the exceptional importance of each action of a lawyer both before the stage of court proceedings and at it.
