Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted the presentation of the project "Assessment of the current state of gender equality at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs", aimed at analyzing gender approaches used in higher educational establishments with specific learning conditions. The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Colonel Ihor Babych, the First Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Antti Hartikainen, international partners from Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Spain and the USA.
Dmytro Shvets emphasized the need to use foreign experience to accelerate the pace and improve the quality of gender mainstreaming at the university. He noted that the support of international experts ensures more successful implementation of the principle of gender equality and overcoming gender stereotypes, which are obstacles to building a gender-balanced society.
The main results of the gender audit of the university were presented by the Gender Advisor to the Rector of KhNUIA, Associate Professor of the Department of Fundamental and Legal Disciplines of KhNUIA, PhD in Law Oksana Tsukan.
The Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Antti Hartikainen said that the University adheres to current European trends, modern approaches to the issues of equal rights and opportunities for women and men. He highly appreciated the achievements of KhNUIA in ensuring the implementation of the principle of gender equality.
