Maryna Petchenko, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Head of Gender Issues at Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, completed an online course on “Conflict and Gender Sensitivity in Working with Representatives of Vulnerable Categories” implemented within the framework of the Adviser Project by Canadian non-governmental organization Stabilization Support Services with the financial support of the British Embassy in Ukraine.
The course consisted of the following thematic blocks: "Vulnerable Categories of the Population" – social and psychological characteristics ("crisis", "difficult life circumstances", "vulnerable categories of the population"; conceptual construct; factors affecting vulnerability; the main groups of vulnerable categories); conflict sensitivity (components of conflict sensitivity; basic values and its principles; tools for implementing a conflict-sensitive approach (the swot-analysis)); gender sensitivity ("gender"; conceptual construct; the mechanism of stereotypes and discrimination formation; gender approach and gender analysis as a tool for implementing the principles of gender sensitivity at different levels).
The online course blocks contained both theoretical and practical parts. After completing the online course and successfully performing the tasks, the participant received a certificate. The acquired knowledge and skills will be used in professional activities and in the development of measures to promote gender equality in the college.
