To acquaint and raise awareness of non-resident first-year students of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, a tour "An architectural Heritage of Sumy" was organized with the participation of Sumy Promotion Agency of Sumy City Council.
The guide was Volodymyr Luhovyi, who introduced students to the old quarter of the city, Troitska street, which was built in the late nineteenth century.
During the tour, students got to know a lot of interesting stories - for example, who of Sumy magnates served cake "Napoleon"for the first time, the clock of which building is considered as a kind of twin brother of the famous "Big Ben" etc.
"The city of Sumy is known for its architectural monuments, fascinating stories from the times of the Cossacks and its modern buildings. Students, who studying at higher education institutions from different parts of Sumy region and Ukraine should know the secrets, history and unique features of Sumy”, said Hanna Mititel, a leading specialist in the human resources department.
The students took interesting photos near the historical monuments and shared their impressions from the cognitive tour.
