Every year, according to tradition, there is an initiation into psychology of freshmen studying in the specialty "Psychology" at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. This year the event was attended by 120 students and 20 cadets.
On behalf of the Rector of the University, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko, the first Vice-Rector, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, greeted the youth. "You have chosen the right path - the path of study at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs," said the First Vice-Rector. "We have all the conditions to get the most thorough knowledge and become high-class specialists, in which you will be helped by an experienced scientific and pedagogical team." Dmytro Shvets wished success in their studies on the way to their chosen profession.
Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleksandr Bandurka noted that “a good education leads a person to the highest heights in life. Psychology is becoming more and more important every year, because a person's psychological health and physical condition are much closed: a healthy psyche is the key to a happy life and longevity. " Oleksandr Bandurka wished persistence in mastering the chosen profession and stressed that "the university creates modern conditions for all who want to study."
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector of the University Anatolii Klochko, the Dean of the Faculty № 3 Oleksandr Morgunov, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty № 6 Kostiantyn Sverdlin, the Head of the Department of Sociology and Psychology Olena Evdokimova, the Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Olena Fedorenko, the Deputy Head of the Educational and Methodological Department Olha Sezonova, parents of freshmen and others.
The event was held in a creative and friendly atmosphere. Freshmen prepared theatrical performances, which revealed the subtleties and versatility of the psychologist, sang songs, wittily and humorously told about their studies in the first year. At the end of the holiday, all first-year students were presented with badges of a student-psychologist, a transitional Cup from fourth-year students and all together took the oath of a psychologist.
