The first stage of the XII Taras Shevchenko International Language and Literature Competition for Pupils and Students took place at Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA as part of the Week of Ukrainian Language and Literature. The purpose of this event is to honor the creative heritage of the Great Kobzar, to identify creatively gifted youth, to educate in them respect for the language and traditions of their people, to raise the level of language education. Students and cadets of the first year of study of the departments of general education and professional training joined the competition.

The event was opened by the head of the cycle commission Oksana Savchenko.

The participants of the first stage of the competition were greeted with words of congratulations by Maryna Petchenko, Candidate of Economic Sciences, responsible for academic integrity and gender issues, researchers of the department of organization of scientific work and gender issues Vadym Orel, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Olha Hlazunova, Candidate of Economic Science. They wished the participants of the competition success, thanked them for their activity in research activities. Cadet Maxym Soloviov read a poem by Taras Shevchenko "Thought" with a slide show about the creative heritage of Kobzar. The slides were prepared by the inspector of the department of general education Inessa Ivanishchak and the teacher of the cycle commission Vira Siora.

Working with the competition tasks, cadets and students demonstrated good knowledge of Ukrainian literature. The members of the jury, namely Nataliia Koversun and Svitlana Cherednyk, teachers of the cycle commission of philological disciplines, noted the high level of training of literary and linguistic competencies of applicants for education. The winners of the first stage of the XII International Language and Literature Competition for Pupils and Students named after Taras Shevchenko were: first place - Kira Pohrebniak, second place - Maryna Shevchenko, third place - Anastasia Horpynchenko.

At the second stage of the competition, which will take place in Poltava, Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA will be represented by Kira Pohrebniak.
