On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the X International Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern problems of legal, economic and social development of the state" was held. For more than 100 years, Kharkiv region has been and remains a source of personnel for the law enforcement system of the state. Granting the status of the university to a higher education institution on November 22, 1994, opened a new page in the history of the university.
On behalf of the Rector's Office and Academic Council of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the Rector of KhNUIA, Corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko greeted the participants. He noted that “The university staff is proud of its history and traditions. A lot has been done, but a lot of work is still ahead! Over the years, thousands of young men and women have received higher education and serve the noble cause of strengthening the rule of law, building a democratic society in independent Ukraine. May the experience and professionalism, the huge creative and intellectual potential of our university continue to be the basis for the training and education of young professionals, the strengthening of our state”. The Rector wished all the participants of the conference creative inspiration, success and, “That, even during the pandemic that changed our lives, you enjoy communicating with each other, at least online. That even under such conditions the traditions of academic research, scientific growth, which always distinguish our university, do not stop”.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Oleh Tatarov, the Head of Poltava Regional State Administration, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Oleh Syniehubov, the Deputy Chief of the National Police of Ukraine – Chief of the Main Investigation Department, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Maksym Tsutskiridze, the Rector of KhNUIA (1992–2003, 2010–2012) Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, President of the Criminological Association of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Oleksandr Bandurka, the Rector of KhNUIA (2012-2015), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Serhii Husarov congratulated the university on the anniversary, wished further success in all areas of activity. Congratulations to the staff were sent by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Member of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Yefremova, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Oleksandr Bakumov.
The conference was attended by the First Vice-Rector of KhNUIA, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, Vice-Rectors and representatives of the scientific and academic staff of the university, specialists of higher education institutions of Ukraine from Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Ternopil, Lviv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, as well as colleagues from Spain, Turkey, Belarus, Moldova, Poland. Abstracts were sent by more than 180 scientists from such institutions of higher education and institutions as Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Academy of Internal Affairs, Zaporizhzhia National University, National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, Lviv Polytechnic National University, higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine – Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk State Universities of Internal Affairs.
Representatives of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region, the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Kharkiv region, the Secretariat of the High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the Office for Combating Crimes Related to Human Trafficking, the Main Inspectorate of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office for Human Rights of the National Police of Ukraine.
The conference was devoted to topical issues of finding ways to develop both Ukraine and neighboring countries, defining the role and place of the state in the transformation of legal, economic, social and cultural systems, reforming law enforcement agencies and establishing a new national police, reforming national legislation and bringing it into compliance with European standards, market economy requirements and geopolitical challenges.
Based on the results of the scientific event, a collection of materials with abstracts of reports of its participants were published.
