KhNUIA Equal Opportunities team took part in the project webinar "EQUALS-EU: Closing the skills and gender gap in STEM – Where do we stand?", which aimed to present informative updates on the success of establishing gender equality and overcoming the gender gap in the modern European space. EQUALS-EU project affects the work in this direction drew special attention.
Representatives of various sectors made reports on the following:
European Commission Policy Officer, Dana Adriana Pouya Morel shared successful work on improving competencies that will encourage girls to build a career in IT, and women leadership teaching.
EIT Raw Materials educational project specialist, Solene Mouthier noted the importance of strategic learning programs for secondary schools.
Vanya Neto, representative of Education Skills and Learning Management in Western Europe, Microsoft, emphasized the importance of empowering girls in STEM for generations to come.
Tamara Dancheva – GSMA's senior manager of international relations reported on project partnership, transformational leadership, hackathons and innovation camps. A vivid example of such innovations was Innovation Camp "Women in Science and Security", held by Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
The participants were also presented with scientific statistical data on overcoming the gender gap, presented by Maria Sangiuliano, director of research and program manager of Smart Venice.
The online meeting was organized within the framework of the Europe’s Regional Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age (EQUALS-EU) Horizon 2020 project. The goal of the project is to build capacity through multi-stakeholder partnerships that strengthen existing and formalize new networks in the field of social innovation and entrepreneurship; creation of smart, sustainable and inclusive social innovation ecosystems in local communities, European cities and non-European countries.https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/16119
