Timothy Janowick, Deputy Director of the ICITAP Regional Program Office in Ukraine, visited Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. He met with the First Vice-Rector of the University Oleksandr Morhunov. The purpose of the visit was to monitor the educational process of community police officers who are being trained at the university and to communicate with the students of the program.
With the support of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the Embassy of the United States of America, and the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program of the U.S. Department of Justice in Ukraine (ICITAP), Kharkiv Police University is training specialists according to a new global model.
During the training, community police officers gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the following areas: "Human Rights", "Anti-Corruption Legislation", "Organizational and Legal Principles of Community Police Officers", "Preventive Work of Community Police Officers", "Road Safety", "Criminal Proceedings", "Analysis and Solution of Community Security Problems", etc.
