Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Forensics and Expertology of the Educational and Research Institute No.5 Olena Soloviova took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Mediation & Universities 2.0», which took place in Lviv.

The event brought together academics, lecturers, students, alternative dispute resolution specialists and government representatives. The participants discussed the role of universities in the development of this direction and the possibility of its integration into the educational process. Particular attention was paid to the application of relevant practices in jurisprudence and economics, as well as the presentation of scientific research and practical cases. The discussion focused on current trends and development prospects.

The purpose of the conference was to highlight various aspects of the implementation of conciliation procedures as a component of university educational programs, scientific research and institutional mechanisms. This contributes to raising awareness of their role in higher education and further development. It was emphasized that such approaches were increasingly established as an effective tool for conflict management, improving the quality of the educational environment and training specialists in various fields.

During the event, it was emphasized that universities should not only teach students the theory and practical skills of alternative dispute resolution, but also actively implement these mechanisms in the everyday life of higher education institutions.

The event was organized by Ukrainian Academy of Mediation together with National University «Lviv Polytechnic», Lviv University of Trade and Economics, Yurii Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, West Ukrainian National University, Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi VSPU, NGO «Progressilnih» and NGO «Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine».

Relevant university services and specialized institutions also joined the organization.
