Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in a final round table dedicated to establishing effective cooperation between the network of National Contact Points (NCPs) and Ukrainian representatives responsible for implementing the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe.
The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine, and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, and was dedicated to discussing strategic priorities for international scientific cooperation for 2025-2027.
The round table was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Denys Kurbatov, Executive Director of the NRFU Olha Polotska, Director General of the Directorate for Science Development of the MES of Ukraine Hryhorii Mozolevych, as well as representatives of programme committees and the NCPs network. During the discussion, the growth in the participation of Ukrainian scientists in joint European research projects was noted.
KhNUIA was represented at the event by Oleksii Serdiuk, Head of the Research Laboratory for Social and Psychological Support, Assistance and Rehabilitation of MIA employees, Head of the National Contact Point for the Horizon Europe Programme in the field of ‘Civil Security for Society’, as well as Oksana Tsukan, representative of the Framework Programme's programme committee and Assistant to the Rector on gender issues.
During the discussion, Oleksii Serdiuk focused on the key challenges faced by Ukrainian researchers in the field of security, in particular on the issues of stakeholder engagement, financial management of projects and coordination between regional and central support structures. Separate emphasis was placed on the importance of more active involvement of security and defence sector institutions in international grant programmes.
The Head of the NCPs confirmed his readiness to continue providing advisory support to Ukrainian scientists and developers in preparing project applications, supporting projects and complying with the requirements of Cluster 3 of the Horizon Europe Programme.
The participation of representatives of KhNUIA in events of this level confirms the university's leading role in the development of scientific research in the field of security and contributes to the integration of Ukrainian science into the European Research Area.
