Oleksii Serdiuk, Head of the Research Laboratory of Social and Psychological Support, Assistance and Rehabilitation of employees of the MIA, presented the National Contact Point in the direction of «Civil security for society» at the information day of the European Commission's RIFF RESEARCH INFRASTRUCUTRE FOR THE FUTURE OF UKRAINE) project dedicated to the development of a strategy and a road map for the development of research infrastructure in Ukraine.
The event brought together a wide audience of representatives from scientific institutions, higher education institutions and research infrastructure operators. In total, more than 150 people took part in the event, of which about 30 were present offline in Kharkiv, the rest joined in an online format.
The issues of the civil security cluster were not singled out within this project, while its individual aspects, including cyber security, critical infrastructure resilience and other cross-sectoral issues –, are integrated into various areas of research infrastructure. The participation of scientific and educational institutions of the MIA in the development of a road map for the development of research infrastructure in Ukraine will allow to represent the interests of law enforcement agencies in the project recommendations, which will be developed jointly with the NRFU.
The integration of our country into the European Research Area is a requirement of negotiating section 25 regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union, and institutions of the security and defense sector of Ukraine take an active part in this process.
