Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a two-day scientific seminar “Protecting the Professional Activities of Journalists and Freedom of Speech in Ukraine: Combating Impunity”.
The greetings to the participants of the seminar were addressed by the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svitlychna, Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Ukraine Morten Enberg, Prosecutor of Kharkiv Region, Second Class Justice Adviser Yuriy Danilchenko, Vice-Rector of the University lieutenant-colonel of police Mikhailo Burdin, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Bandurka and the Head of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region, colonel of police Volodymyr Timoshko.
During the workshop, about 250 participants (representatives of the National Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, the judiciary, NGOs and journalists) perceive presentations of key national and international experts. Among trainers and lecturers are: international experts of the Council of Europe, Ukrainian media lawyers, representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office, professors of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
