An online training under the auspices of the Europe Council "Protection of the rights and freedoms of the vulnerable groups population by the National Police of Ukraine" was conducted for applicants for higher education at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

The trainers were the creators of the program, i.e. Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and Philosophy of Law from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs Liliia Matvieieva, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty No. 1 of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Cybersecurity from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs Polina Baltadzhy, and a lawyer and trainer for the development of skills in working with vulnerable groups of BPD clients, a graduate of the ‘’Advocate of the Future’’ program, president of the ‘’Roma Human Rights Center’’ NGO Volodymyr Kondur.

 

The event was moderated by Olena Ustymenko, Head of the International Cooperation Department of KhNUIA.

During the training, the speakers paid considerable attention to the rights, freedoms and responsibilities of the most vulnerable groups (including Roma), respect for the rights and freedoms of the Roma national minority in Ukraine, international standards for national minorities, including Roma, police communication with the Roma population. etc.

Participants actively took part in the interactive training: commented on the demonstrated videos, performed both individual and group work, studied cases, asked questions to experts. All participants received certificates from the Europe Council training.
