The Department of Sociology and Psychology of the Faculty No.6 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held remotely the Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Trends in Practical Psychology and Psychotherapy” with international participation of students, postgraduates and young scientists.

Valerii Sokurenko, Rector of the University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor; Dmytro Shvets, First Vice-Rector, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor; Olena Yevdokimova, Head of the Department of Sociology and Psychology of the Faculty No.6, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor as well as representatives of the scientific community, cadets and university students took part in the event.

Opening the scientific event, Valerii Sokurenko told: “It is difficult to mention a field of social practice that would not require taking into account the human factor. Law enforcement agencies are no exception. More than 500 students and applicants of psychological specialty study at the university. Graduated psychologists work successfully in various institutions: schools, police, army, penitentiaries. In addition to general psychological science, students and cadets study the psychology of offenders and the psychology of the victim, the psychological characteristics of the functioning and disintegration of criminal groups, the basics of criminal law, the psychology of deviant behavior, etc., and they acquire modern psychological practices. Today's conference, which we are holding with the participation of our Polish colleagues, has a purely practical orientation, - told the rector. - It is the mastery of psychological practices that allows the psychologist to carry out psychodiagnostic, psychoprophylactic, psychocorrectional, psycho-rehabilitation activities. Valerii Vasylovych wished the conference participants fruitful and interesting work.
