Celebrations on the occasion of the graduation of students from the initial professional training courses for police officers took place at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
At the beginning of the event, with a minute of silence, those present honored the patriotism, courage, and heroism of those, who gave their lives for the unity and independence of Ukraine; and laid flowers at the monument to law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
Graduates were awarded certificates of successful completion of training. 29 employees of the Headquarters of the National Police in Kharkiv Region mastered a new profession - "Policeman" (specialization - special police, qualification - police officer of support units), for six months. Valerii Sokurenko, Rector of the University, Police General of the 3-rd rank, and Serhii Bortnyk, Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel, handed out certificates to the graduates.
Congratulating the graduates, the Rector wished them success and inspiration in their work, professional development, and also never stop on achieved – to learn and grow professionally. The doors of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs are always open for those who want to improve in their chosen profession.
During the celebrations, the best scientific and pedagogical employee of the Institute was awarded. Yurii Makhota received the pennon for professionalism, scientific and creative approach to teaching.
On behalf of the graduates, Police Officer Maryna Zakharova addressed the audience, thanking the home-administration and staff of the University for the knowledge gained during the training, and assured that the graduates would serve with dignity in the National Police of Ukraine units, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
