A meeting of the scientific circle of the Department of Ukrainian Studies of Faculty № 2 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was held on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the genius master of psychological novels Vasyl Stefanyk.

During the round table "Vasyl Stefanyk: History and Modernity" cadets made reports, including: "Life and career of V. Stefanyk", "Linguistic and stylistic features of short stories by V. Stefanyk", "V. Stefanyk and Ukrainian culture", "Works of V. Stefanyk translated by Vatslav Morachevskyi", "The theme of emigration in the works of V. Stefanyk". Participants actively and with interest discussed various aspects of the biography, creativity, and cultural and social activities of the outstanding Ukrainian writer, offered their own concepts of modern reading of his works.

The favorable atmosphere and convenient form of communication that prevailed among those present inspired for the further development of the topic. We hope that the started scientific investigations will be continued and cadets will continue to work on scientific topics of the Department of Ukrainian Studies.
