Training workshops “Bases of special tactics for special operation police forces according to Scandinavian model on public safety and order support during peaceful assemblies and other public events” have been started at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
Dmytro Shvets, the first Vice-Rector of the University addressed the participants of the training course: “You have the opportunity to gain international experience, to develop the plan of actions during the training course. I am sure that the lessons will be carried out efficiently, intensively, and most importantly – effectively”.
Vitalii Huz, Police Colonel, Deputy Head of the Headquarters of the National Police in Kharkiv region, noted that the Scandinavian model of training had already being applied in the National Police of Ukraine to support order during peaceful mass events and, as practice shows, this has yielded positive results. Kharkiv police authority is grateful to international partners for their cooperation.
Oleksandr Bunievskyi, Police Captain, the commander of the Special Operation Regiment of the Headquarters of the National Police Department in Kharkiv region also congratulated the present and wished them new knowledge and skills.
Fernando Magro Moros (Spain), Team Leader of the Public Order Specialized Team of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine, addressed the meeting: “We come not to teach, but to share knowledge and experience, to help our Ukrainian colleagues to implement the standards of the European Union”.
After receiving instructions, the police began their training.
